My board is not charging properly
In the first instance, please check our detailed charging procedure article to ensure that you are doing everything correctly there.
In the unlikely event that your board is brand new and unused and not charging after checking the detailed charging procedure, we can arrange a free return and once the original has arrived back with us we will either fix if it is a simple issue or send out a new board provided we have available stock or an equivalent board if not. Please raise a support request here and we will respond as soon as possible. However, if you are happy to try the following procedures to see if it is an easy fix, this will not affect your warranty in any way.
If the charger is plugged in to the wall and the board and the light on the charger stays green but the Fusion Board is either flashing red and/or the board is sounding a continuous bleeping alarm, please check / try the following:
The first thing to check is that the charging socket is not loose. If it is, the movement can cause the wires on the back of the socket to become detached which can short circuit / stop the charger working. Please see our article on charging socket issues here for more information on this.
The second possibility is that another wire has become loose inside through use.
The third possibility is that the battery or charger have become faulty.
And finally if it has been ridden through water / mud or had a big knock, then this can cause short circuits and damage to the battery and circuit boards.
If you are someone else you know are happy to unscrew the cover and have a look inside, It’s not technical, just a few screws and it won’t affect your warranty in any way, we can quickly establish the likely cause of the problem.
Once the cover is off, it will be fairly obvious if there is a broken or loose wire, loose charging socket etc. if everything looks fine the next thing would be to try a new charger or battery.
You would need to send the charger and battery back to us for testing and if either or both are faulty, we will send out a new ones. At this point, if both charger and battery were fine, it would mean that there is a problem with the main circuit board. In this case we would need to get the whole board back to asses and repair, but it is far easier to send the components back first as that can be a very quick fix.
We have a YouTube video online which details how to change a battery, so watching that would give you an idea of what is involved. Fusion Battery change video
